Community Protection Intervention in Bolori II during the 2023 congregational Sallah prayers

Alhajiri Community Development Initiative (ALCODI), in collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Protection from Violence and Site Management teams, successfully implemented a Community Protection Intervention in Bolori II during the 2023 congregational Sallah prayers. Following tragic incidents recorded in previous years, including deaths, coma cases, and injuries among women and children, proactive safety and crowd management measures were introduced to protect vulnerable community members and ensure safer public participation.

Through effective coordination, community sensitisation, deployment of protection personnel, and strengthened emergency preparedness, the intervention recorded a remarkable outcome of zero deaths, zero coma cases, and zero injuries during the Sallah prayers. This achievement reflects the impact of collaborative humanitarian action and community-based protection efforts in promoting public safety and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
